Kenny McGeorge ( website to follow soon ) recently signed a contract with a Nashville Record label. We spent most of last Sunday shooting for the cover art. I thought I’d share a few of my favorites from the first pass through.
Thanks for looking,
Larry

Just wanted to post a couple of my favorites from today’s session.
Thanks for looking,
Larry
David Blaine started his “72 hour Magic Marathon” in Times Square Friday, January 15th. Please stop by to see David perform some illusions and donate to this very worthy cause.
You can also donate to the redcross directly through his website DavidBlaine.com.
Below are a few Images from yesterday.
Thanks for looking

David was Kind enough to sign one of my “David Blaine Split Spades” decks.
Which is now being hermetically sealed. LOL
I’m doing a little New Year’s organizing and found a couple of pictures that I liked but never made it to the blog.
Thanks for looking.

Ok, I’ve been totally swamped this year and finally got around to shooting the images for our Christmas card (nothing like being “Last Minute Larry”). While I’m rushing to design and have it printed I thought I’d share one of the photos that made the “short List”.
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!
Thanks for looking

The whole reason I became fascinated with photography as a kid was it gave me the ability to freeze time; to capture that fraction of a second forever. Whether I was using my Polaroid one-step, a 110 or my SLR I felt I was beating time as long as I had these “frozen moments”. This concept has become more prevalent now that my children seem to grow at blinding speeds and my parents age.
If you’ve ever been around me for an extended period of time you know it’s not uncommon for me to start snapping candids of the people I’m with. This past labor day weekend we were celebrating at my Uncle (and Godfather)’s house. When I made the exposure below, no one knew that 24 hours later he would have an accident on his motorcycle. He is okay; I suppose as okay as you can be after dumping a heavy bike on a rural road. My Uncle luckily only suffered 5 broken ribs and a punctured lung. With those injuries, he still managed to pick up his Harley Davidson Ultra Classic (a big bike) and ride it home.
I sent a copy of the picture below with a note that said something along the lines of how I was thrilled that this was not the last photo I ever made of him.
I’m sure glad I stole the moment.
Below: My Uncle Jerry and his brand new Grandson Kevin.
I feel that a portrait is so much more than what the word conveys. To me, a portrait needs to capture a persons character, their core essence.
It doesn’t even have to contain a person’s face. Sometimes a persons hands can be an accurate and compelling portrait. They can tell the story without ever revealing their owner.

Meet Steve. Steve is a very talented jazz bass player (I know because I got to listen to him play during our session). I hope Steve’s portrait conveys the years he spent honing and mastering his craft as well as his warmth and depth.
You can see Steve play in NYC and the surrounding area. To hear some great music and see where Steve is playing next, check out his web site
Ok, I said I wouldn’t work today. However, I couldn’t resist using a little “Father’s Day Guilt” to get my daughters to model for me while I tried out an Idea I’ve been meaning to get to for ages. For my photographer friends, I’ll include the set-up info below. Thanks for looking.
Strobist info: There is a 430exII bungeed’ (how do you make Bungee cord a verb?) into the top of the umbrella. A Full Cut CTO gel over the flash, and a Stofen over the gel. A small piece of tin foil gaffer taped to the underside of the umbrella to control spill. Flash set to ETTL High Speed Sync, triggered by my new Radio popper px triggers. exp: 1/1000 F/5.6 ISO 400. W/B: Set to cloudy to warm the gel a little.
